Our students are now well experienced using tools, so as a progression from our building ‘wood-shop’ centre we decided to introduce a take apart discovery challenge this week. Students were given various (no longer used) electronic equipment to pull apart, dismantle and distroy! It was really cool discovering the circuit boards, tiny wires and pieces that lay inside the different items. It was great challenge for students to problem solve how to open the different materials and find the right tools to use. It was also an opportunity to practice our fine motor skills using the screw drivers and pliers to uncover the different parts.
Here are students working on an old telephone –
If you have any old electronic materials you are no longer using our class will gladly destroy them…I mean investigate! before donating them to our schools electronic recycling program.
