This week we opened up a Wood shop centre in our classroom. Students were eager to try out the different tools like a screwdriver, a hammer, the pliers, a measuring tape and nails and screws. When we introduced the centre we had an important discussion around safety and how to properly use these real tools. The kids have quickly demonstrated how capable they are at using these tools safely. It has been a great opportunity for the class to explore the different tools and see the kinds of things they can create. It is an excellent fine and gross motor activity. We are excited to see the things we will discover as the week progresses.
